Trump Believes He Is Treated Worse Than Lincoln

And yes, he delivered this assessment while sitting in front of the Lincoln Memorial.

I take no pleasure in writing this, but I have been enlisted to inform you that the current POTUS said something on-brandishly stupid over the weekend.

Speaking during a Fox News town hall-styled event in front of the Lincoln Memorial, Trump—asked about his treatment of reporters—compared himself to the 16th president of the US by revealing his belief that he's actually treated worse. It's worth pointing out, I suppose, that Lincoln—whose general treatment Trump believes was better than his own—was assassinated.

"I am greeted with a hostile press the likes of which no president has ever seen," Trump said around four minutes into the video up top, though the video in question is most certainly not worth our time. "The closest would be that gentleman right up there. They always said Lincoln, nobody got treated worse than Lincoln. I believe I am treated worse. You're there. You see those press conferences. They come at me with questions that are disgraceful, to be honest. Their manner of presentation and their words."

Trump also spoke on COVID-19 matters, using the opportunity to pat himself on the back while simultaneously inching up his expected death toll for the virus, though his assertion that the US is "gonna lose anywhere from 75 . . . to 100,000 people" still falls below the projections of health officials.

Elsewhere, he expressed support for states choosing to initiate reopening measures and said that "winning, ultimately, is gonna bring this country together."

Black people: We want cops to stop shooting us.

GOP: Boo hoo, babies.

Kids: We want to not be shot at school.

GOP: Whatever, snowflakes.

Trump supporters: We want to go out to eat and lick bannisters in public stairwells.

GOP: AS IS YOUR RIGHT AS AMERICANS!

Anyway, as always, keep up with the CDC for current COVID-19 info.
