Michael Wolff, the author of "Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House" visited The Late Show with Stephen Colbert to give an unsettlingly candid interview on his controversial book which looks behind the scenes into the bizarre world that is the Trump Administration. Colbert shared the sentiment that a lot of people who read this book will likely have. "I'm deeply conflicted when I read this. As a comedian I want all of it to be true so I can make jokes about it, but as a citizen I don't want any of it to be true. You don't have sourcing, at least not for everything you've got in here, so how much of it should I believe?" To which Wolff replied, "You should believe all of it. That's the alarming thing."

Throughout the interview Wolff highlights the pure madness that is the "Trump White House" as he calls it. "Everybody is telling you different stories. Let's put it this way, everyone is lying in their own particular way because that's what you do in the Trump White House." For most of us with functioning brain capabilities, this is not new information, which is why, when Colbert asked if he was surprised with the splash his book has made, he replied, "Of course, I am surprised, because I thought we knew this."
