A 61-year-old woman was arrested during the "No Kings" protest in Alabama after she refused to remove her inflatable penis costume.

According to a news release from the Fairhope Police Department, obtained by AL.com, officers were responding to complaints of "traffic hazards in the area" when they saw Jeana Renea Gamble wearing the "phallic costume" near a shopping center.

The report states Gamble was asked to remove the costume because it was "deemed obscene in a public setting," but she refused. Footage of her arrest has since surfaced online.

Gamble was charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

Fairhope Police Lt. Shane Nolte said authorities received complaints about "traffic hazards" in connection with protesters, but he could not confirm if those calls included mention of Gamble and her costume.

Amid a debate about whether Gamble's First Amendment rights were violated, Fairhope Mayor Sherry Sullivan issued a statement in which she conceded that everyone has a right to express themselves during a protest. Sullivan argued that "we expect all protest to be peaceful and should not include any profanity or obscene material."

According to Axois, there were no reported arrests during the "No Kings" protest in New York City, Chicago, Washington, D.C., and San Diego.
