A Philly Reporter Recalls What It Was Like Being Called The "C Word" By Trump

One reporter says Donald Trump called her the "c word" over the phone.

It's no secret that a lot of people have been personally victimized by Donald Trump. And now, only days after a former Miss Universe shared her story, a former Philadelphia Inquirer reporter, Jennifer Lin, spoke with CNN about that time Trump called her the "c word."

In the late 1980s, Lin revealed that she wrote an article about Trump's casinos, a story which the billionaire didn't like at all. In response, Trump called the reporter up on the phone and began yelling at her as well as calling her out of her name several times. "Mr. Trump began to yell at me. He told me I had 'shit for brains,'" Lin recalled. "He told me I worked at a 'shitty newspaper,' and he said 'what sort of shit was I writing?" And that's when he called her the "the worst word in the English language to call women."

Lin also noted that he called her boss up at the time and bombarded him with the same sort of comments. But when her boss asked him what was wrong with the article, Trump admitted that he had not read it. Lin's boss at the Philly-based newspaper then told Trump to have a look at the story and come back with any complaints. He never came back, according to Lin.

When asked why she was coming out with her testimony nearly three decades later, Lin said she's actually been telling this story to whoever would listen for the past 28 years. But she's been going especially hard to scream it from the rooftop in light of the Republican's comments at presidential debate. "[Me and my girlfriends] were horrified by the things Trump has said about women," Lin said. In addition to calling Alicia Machado "Miss Piggy," Trump also said that Rosie O'Donnell was a "slob."

Following Lin's story, Trump camp came forward to deny all claims. "The accusation is categorically false," David Urban, Trump's Senior Campaign Adviser said in a written statement on Thursday. "I find it incredibly coincidental that this person's crystal-clear recollection of one sentence, on word, spoken nearly 30 years ago just happens to coincide with Mr. Trump's surge in Pennsylvania. This nothing more than an avowed liberal reporter who is trying to exploit Mr. Trump's reputation as click bait for her tabloid stories."

But Lin wasn't backing down that easily. The former reporter continues to stick with her story. "I'm offended by the way Trump treated me 20 years ago. He bullied me... this is a true story; it happened to me."
