After being away for two months on summer vacation and allowing other hosts to take over the show in his absence, Jimmy Kimmel returned to his late-night television show on Tuesday.

Kimmel opened the episode with some jokes and remarks about the pandemic and unvaccinated people putting others at risk.

“Dr. Fauci said that if hospitals get any more overcrowded, they’re gonna have to make some very tough choices about who gets an ICU bed,” Kimmel said during the cold open. “That choice doesn’t seem so tough to me. Vaccinated person having a heart attack? Yes, come right in, we’ll take care of you. Unvaccinated guy who gobbled horse goo? Rest in peace, wheezy.”

He added, “We still have a lot of pan-dimwits out there, people are still taking this ivermectin. Poison control centers have seen a spike in calls from people taking this livestock medicine to fight the coronavirus, but they won’t take the vaccine which is crazy. It’s like if you were a vegan and were like, ‘No, I don’t want a hamburger. Give me that can of Alpo instead.’”

Kimmel continued by listing all the reasons why ivermectin has no scientific basis for having any therapeutic effect against COVID. Meanwhile, Joe Rogan, who was criticized for taking the drug when he recently got COVID, took to his widely popular podcast to defend it after CNN cited the dangers in using it.

“Do I have to sue CNN?” Rogan asked guest Tom Segura in reference to their coverage of his coronavirus treatment. “They’re making shit up! They keep saying I’m taking horse dewormer. I literally got it from a doctor. It’s an American company.”
