An intense video shared by TMZ shows an allegedly inebriated Los Angeles International would-be passenger getting taken down after he laid hands on a police officer.

The man was denied when he tried to board his flight, reportedly due to how drunk he was. When he began to make a scene, officers were called in to assist. As the clip begins, officers are seen escorting him down an escalator. At the bottom, the man appears to reach for a handshake as he’s heard saying “thank you sir, appreciate it,” but opts instead to shove and then punch the officer in the chest. He’s promptly tackled and held down.

“You ruined my fucking day, bro,” he says when repeatedly asked if he’s okay after being slammed into a door and onto the ground. “Now I have to travel a whole other day,” he complained.

The man screams at one point, either in pain or frustration, and begins to ask bystanders for help. He’s eventually taken to a squad car in a wheelchair.

According to TMZ’s law enforcement sources, he was arrested for battery on a police officer and public intoxication. They added that if he didn’t provoke the officers, he would have been allowed to leave.

Per KCAL, the Los Angeles International Police Department said the man is 23 years old but did not reveal his identity. He was originally scheduled to board a Delta flight from LAX to New York.
