A mother of three in Georgia is accused of shooting at a car of teenagers during a road rage incident on Sunday, per 11Alive.

She has since been arrested and is charged with four counts of aggravated assault, three counts of cruelty to children, and one count of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

Brittney Griffith, 30, turned herself in after police shared a photo that the teenagers took of the suspect, who shot a 17-year-old girl in the face after following their car. The victim’s name is Ashlyn Crouch, per WSBTV, and she’s expected to be released from a local hospital.

Douglasville Police Major JR Davidson said the teens claimed they were followed for 15 miles before Griffith allegedly opened fire. “We do know the suspect followed them, continued to stay close to their car all the way into Douglasville,” Davidson said.

Davidson added that the suspect’s children, all between ages 4 and 9, were in the back of the car during the alleged shooting.

During a Monday hearing, Griffith was denied bond and claimed that she tossed the weapon from the incident into the Chattahoochee River after the alleged shooting. Judge Susan Camp told the court that Griffith got her nails done after the shooting.

The victim’s mother, Diana Crouch, claims that her daughter accidentally cut Griffith off before the incident took place. “And she shot them the bird, and they shot back,” Crouch told WSBTV. “(Ashlyn) was shot behind her ear and it came out through the side of her eye right here.”
