A couple in Michigan are looking for a new place to live after they claim that a ghostly figure left scratches on the face of their young daughter.

According to Detroit ABC affiliate WXYZ, Heather Brough and Josh Higgins are hoping to leave their Highland, Michigan home after spotting the ghost on their nanny cam.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, Brough explained that she saw the scratches after waking her daughter up from a nap. The couple decided to watch the camera in her room to see what could have caused the injuries. That's where they spotted the potential apparition.

"It was chilling," Higgins said of the possible ghost sighting. "It was literally a chill down your spine, like that 'what if' factor – Is this what I just saw?"

"It scares us that it could do something else," Brough added. "I mean, there was a morning I woke up and I felt like someone’s hands were around my neck."

The family have offered stories about the house that might explain the haunting, including an elderly woman who was found dead at the foot of a stairs and a man who reportedly committed suicide by jumping out of a window. Brough doesn't care who it might be, she just wants out.

"This is a spirit - I don't know what its intentions are but at this point it's becoming physically harmful," she told the Mail. "This has made us want to leave as soon as possible. As soon as possible we're out of here."
