According to CNN, officials on the Italian island of Sardinia discovered a 5,400-square-foot marijuana grow operation that was hidden behind the titles of a shower. During the raid, police seized close to 500 cannabis plants as well as a gun and ammunition. San Francisco's KRON 4 reports that the heat lamps and other electronics needed to sustain the facility were operating on stolen energy. The unnamed homeowner was arrested on charges of illegal production and possession of drugs and possession of an illegal firearm and ammunition.
Although not much is known about the incident, the grower's innovative way of concealing their operation stole several headlines. It also caught the attention of social media, leading users to react to the police's massive bust.
This is what happens when it’s criminalized for no reason. Cities, govmts, etc end up wasting precious time & resources that would be better spent elsewhere.— 49ers Dynasty 4 Life (@JeffDogggg) October 4, 2019
