If you see Santa sliding down the chimney this evening, you might want to call the police. A Memphis man is on the run after robbing a local bank dressed as Santa Claus, the New York Daily News reports.

According to a Facebook post by the Memphis Police Department, the robbery unfolded at around 10 a.m. Wednesday, when a man walked into the Memphis City Employee Credit Union wearing a red shirt, black pants, and a Santa mask concealing his face.

Though his Santa costume was admittedly pretty low rent, the rest of his plan worked like a charm. The robbery began innocuously enough, as the man wished everyone a merry Christmas and handed out candy canes to bank customers, surveillance video shows.

Eventually, he handed a bank teller a note demanding cash from the drawer. After the teller obliged, the man left the bank and fled on foot. Another surveillance video shows him casually removing his mask and walking the away from the bank with a collectedness unbefitting of a man who just committed a major crime.

According to police, the outlaw is 5-foot-9, and weighs around 150 pounds, which means he's much more svelte than your run-of-the-mill shopping Mall Santa. Anyone with information about the Christmas bandit has been asked to contact the Memphis police, and help make sure that this particular Bad Santa gets his cookies and milk served behind bars.
