Supreme has a new home on the Sunset Strip.

After 19 years on Fairfax Avenue, the brand’s Los Angeles flagship was officially moved to West Hollywood. Supreme creative director Tremaine Emory teased the relocation on Instagram this week, sharing a video of a Supreme-branded helicopter flying over the Hollywood sign.

The streetwear purveyor announced the store in early 2022, confirming it would take over the former location of Tower Records. Residents immediately objected to the move, as they feared the store would result in crowded sidewalks and increased traffic. The brand faced similar complaints with its Fairfax store, where customers would camp out for days in anticipation of its weekly “drop” day.

“A lot of very unfortunate incidents in Hollywood as of late have been conflated with how Supreme operates,” West Rubenstein, senior vice president of Supreme, told WWD about the latest concerns. “We pride ourselves on running safe, clean shops, not just in L.A. but New York, the country and around the world.”

The 8,500-square-foot space will include a floating skate bowl created by Steven Badgett’s Simparch, as well as art installations by Mark Gonzales, Nate Lowman, Josh Smith, Fuck This Life, and Neckface. Supreme Los Angeles is now located at 8801 Sunset Boulevard. The shop will open its doors this Thursday, and will operate between 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
