Law Roach Responds to Speculation He Was Upset With Zendaya Over Fashion Show Seat: 'Stop It'

It seems that Law Roach is dismissing rumors that his retirement as a stylist has anything to do with a front-row seat at a recent Louis Vuitton fashion show.

“Please stop it….. there was never a problem with a seat,” he tweeted on Tuesday.

His latest remark follows comments he made last week about his and Zendaya’s relationship, tweeting that their bond is still strong even amid his retirement.

“So y’all really think I’m breaking up with Z…..we are forever!” Roach wrote. “She’s my little sister and it’s real love not the fake industry love.”

It’s unclear if he will return to styling. He announced his retirement earlier that week, writing on Instagram: “My Cup is empty….. thank you to everyone who’ve supported me and my career over the years. Every person that trusted me with their image, I’m so grateful for you all.”

He continued, “If this business was just about the clothes I would do it for the rest of my life but unfortunately it’s not! The politics, the lies, and false narratives finally got me! You win…I’m out.”

At the time, it looked like his news might have been triggered by his feeling insulted at the Louis Vuitton fashion show. In footage from the show, Roach walks in with Zendaya and appears to expect to sit next to her. However, there isn’t another seat available in the front row—only in the row behind Zendaya.

Roach also discussed the incident in a recent interview with The Cut, telling the outlet, “In my mind, my seat was next to her. So when I got there and it wasn’t, you know, it wasn’t a problem, but there was nobody to tell me where my actual seat was,” he said. “And so the seat behind her, when you see her turn around and touch the seat, it wasn’t her telling me to sit there, it was her telling me like, ‘That’s Darnell’s seat,’ which is her assistant. I’m not gonna sit in Darnell’s seat,” he said.

Roach added that he was “confused” because he has a long-standing relationship with Louis Vuitton and his seat is typically next to Zendaya’s. 

People then blamed Zendaya for what happened. “That became really tough because it made people think that Zendaya wasn’t taking care of me and wasn’t making sure I was taken care of,” he said. 

He also explained that people then thought he had beef with Delphine Arnault, the CEO of Christian Dior, and LVMH, which he explained he doesn’t, and that he and Zendaya still attended the after-party.
