Daily Paper has just released the lookbook for its Spring/Summer 2022 collection.
Set to drop later this week, the collection celebrates the impact hip-hop culture has had on both the Amsterdam-born label and society, through a mix ‘70s, ‘80s and ‘90s-inspired garments that have been elevated with details from the Pan-African flag.
In true Daily Paper style, SS22 comprises a host of notable pieces, including oversized monogram sweatsuits, denim dungarees and pinstripe tailoring, which feature an African cowrie shell design on the stripes as well as the phrase ‘Educate To Liberate’.
Elsewhere, the label has applied the red, black and green colours of the Pan-African flag across a new bandana print, which can be seen on a dress and tracksuit. Adding to the mix are the label’s signature silhouettes, which appear in colours such as “Chocolate Brown” and “Mint Green”, as well as bursts of bright red and yellow.
Speaking about the new line, co-founder and design director Abderrahmane Trabsini said: “I enjoyed working on this collection a lot as hip-hop has always been, and still is, a big inspiration to us. The influence of hip-hop and its community had a significant impact on how Daily Paper came to life, first through telling stories around street culture on our blog, which later evolved to become the fashion brand we are today.”
The first installment of Daily Paper’s SS22 collection will begin releasing on January 14 and will be available from the brand’s webstore, as well as its flagship locations in Amsterdam, London, and New York City.
