If you somehow needed further proof of streetwear's welcomed takeover of the mainstream, look no further.

The Council of Fashion Designers of American (CFDA) announced the 2018 nominees for their CFDA Fashion Awards Thursday night, with Off-White's Virgil Abloh and Supreme's James Jebbia both scoring a nod in the Menswear Designer of the Year category. Others honored in the category include Raf Simons, Tom Ford, and Thom Browne. Abloh was also nominated for Womenswear Designer of the Year alongside Simons, Marc Jacobs, Gabriela Hearst, and Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. Previous winners include Simons, Jacobs, Browne, and Ralph Lauren.

Thursday's announcement, perWWD, marked the first time the CFDA has unveiled the nominees via Instagram. Honestly, all award shows across all mediums should be doing this by now.

Head here for the full list of 2018 nominees. Winners will be revealed June 4 during an Issa Rae-hosted ceremony at the Brooklyn Museum.

Friday, Abloh opened his first solo art exhibition PAY PER VIEW at Takashi Murakami’s Kaikai Kiki Gallery in Tokyo. "When I think about the existence of Virgil Abloh, I get so excited," Takashi said of the show, which runs through April 1. "I am energized." Abloh marked the occasion with an extremely limited drop of spray-painted tees at Bar Zingaro:
