KAWS will now serve as an advisor to Otsumo, the parent company behind NIGO®’s Human Made label.

The appointment was announced on Thursday, with KAWS saying in a statement he was “thrilled” to be joining the team.

“NIGO® and the street culture of Tokyo have been an endless source of inspiration for my designs.,” KAWS said Thursday. “Throughout my collections with Human Made, Otsumo’s vision of ‘Making life on earth more interesting…from the street,’ has always resonated with me.”

Per a press release, the appointment will build on the already proven creative power of KAWS and NIGO®’s previous work together, namely their joint Human Made collection that launched in 2021. As an advisor, KAWS will provide support to the company “from an artist perspective,” reps said.

“We both got started in street culture and have watched each other grow professionally and personally,” NIGO® said Thursday. “Together, I look forward to launching new ideas that are uniquely ours to earth through Otsumo.”

Elsewhere on the collaborative front, KAWS’ second collection with The North Face was featured by Complex among the best style drops of its release week back in October. Both the ‘95 Denali Jacket and the ThermoBall Traction V Mule, among other pieces, were featured in the collection.

NIGO®’s stacked 2022, meanwhile, notably featured the star-stacked I Know Nigo concert at ComplexCon. Revisit the one-of-a-kind live performance—complete with appearances from Clipse, Lil Uzi Vert, Kodak Black, and more—at this link.
