After announcing the forthcoming collaboration in September last year, Bianca Saunders returns for Spring/Summer 2022 to unveil a collaborative collection alongside Farah

Titled Uptown Top Ranking, the collaborative collection takes inspiration from “FaraPress” trousers, male subcultures of the ‘70s and personal and musical influences, including Jamaican musicians Althea Forrest and Donna Reid.

With Farah continuing to provide support for established and emerging British brands, Saunders once again hones in on her extensive heritage, offering a collection that challenges gender construction and seeks to explore her Black Caribbean heritage with garment transformations that reflect the wearer’s subculture.

“Collaborating with Farah has allowed me to continue to explore what I love: the nuances of masculinity together with the influences of my Caribbean heritage,” says Saunders in the brand’s press release. “Going deep into the Farah archives and finding ways to push forward the signature cuts and silhouettes of the brand with my own transformative techniques, has been a real honour.”

Neatly pressed trousers and carefully considered creases are just some of the details that underpin Saunders’ collaboration. In addition, the designer’s unique approach to menswear is unleashed in a flurry of track pants and shorts—which have been introduced with distinctive creases down the middle of the leg—as well as open-collar polo long-sleeves, graphic T-shirts, polos with trompe-l’œil-esque cable knit imprinting, scrunched and creased sweaters, signature pocket tees, silky chore jacket-like shirts, and more.

Speaking on the collaboration, Farah’s Global Head of Design and Concept, Chris O’Brien, said: “We are really excited to collaborate with Bianca. Her exploration of male identity through style and subculture is what the Farah brand stands for. Celebrating her Caribbean heritage, the music of a decade that inspired so many movements with modern adaptations that still hold true to both brands is the makings of a wonderful collaboration.”
