ERL and Levi’s has teamed up for the first time for a collaboration that brings a hefty dose of California cool to the fore.
Blending pop art aesthetics with skatewear and surf culture, the new collection pays homage to The Golden State’s casual, sun-faded energy.
In true Levi’s style, the offering includes a number of reimagined classic 501 jeans—complete with side slits, super flared knees and distressed waistbands—along with oversized board shorts, and a miniskirt made from a pair of washed out indigo 5-pocket jeans.
The line also includes a sherpa trucker jacket in both short and duster lengths, a fitted denim blouse, overshirt, and a denim dress. Each of these items is adorned with the recognisable neon-coloured ERL embroidery for a sense of unique spontaneity.
“It was super exciting to work with the Levi’s team on the design process,” says ERL founder Eli Russell Linnetz. “Because authenticity is the most important thing to me, I really enjoyed going through the Levi’s® archives to fully understand the heritage of the brand and see how people throughout the years have customised and made it their own. Our Levi’s x ERL collection has a very grunge, casual and skater energy. It’s easy to throw on for everyday wear but it’s still identifiable with a clear voice and signature.”
You can cop the Levi’s x ERL collection this Wednesday (Sept. 6) on levi.com, the Levi’s App, and in select Levi’s stores. The collaboration will also be available at Dover Street Market globally and at select premium retailers.
