Yuttana Choochongkol of San Antonio, Texas is in police custody after being arrested for allegedly making a terroristic threat to the public. According to a police affidavit obtained by San Antonio ABC affiliate KSAT, Choochongkol threatened to kill himself as well as players and fans multiple times.
The affidavit states Pittsburgh police received a threat from Choochongkol stating the following:
After security personnel at the Pittsburgh Steelers’ Heinz Field stadium received a similar threat, authorities used Choochongkol’s IP address and security camera footage to identify the suspect.
According to the affidavit, Choochonkol has been a subject of clinical trials by World Wide Clinical Trials 25 times since 2011, and he reportedly uploaded at least one of the threats from one of the company's facilities.
If convicted under Pennsylvania law, Choochonkol would likely be subject to a hefty fine at the very least. Under the Pennsylvania Criminal Code, such an act would require “restitution in an amount equal to the cost of the evacuation, including, but not limited to, fire and police response; emergency medical service or emergency preparedness response; and transportation of an individual from the building, place of assembly, or facility.”
