For Bape's latest collaboration, the Japanese streetwear icon has linked up with Stampd.
The capsule fuses signature pieces of the Bape DNA like Shark hoodies and ABC Camouflage with the more minimal aesthetic usually present across collections from Chris Stamp's L.A.-based brand. The entire capsule uses a black and white color scheme to showcase Bape's recognizable branding hits.
Black and white versions of T-shirts and dad caps are just a small part of the collection. T-shirts sport a small Ape head logo on the chest and co-branding created especially for this collab on the back. Each cap sports the same co-branded logo. Other pieces include swim trunks covered in a black and grey ABC Camo with colorful "LAGM" lettering on a removable front flap and a tote bag. "LAGM" is a flip on the usual "WGM" seen on Bape pieces and stands for "Los Angeles Gone Mad" as a nod to Stampd's home city.
Two standouts from the collection are the Shark hoodie and pair of Bape Roadstas. The Shark hoodie features a black body and camo hood with traditional shark face detailing and "LAGM" embroidery. An added detail on this Shark hoodie is the removable nylon straps that extend down past the torso. The Roadstas opt for a monochromatic black sand print upper under a clear patent leather, a treatment that guarantees no two pairs will be alike.
Look for the entire Bape x Stampd collection to arrive on Saturday, Feb. 3 at Bape and Stampd flagship locations, bape.com, and stampd.com. Prices will range from $112-$499.
