The 10 Most Hilarious Celebrity Shopping Fails

Yesterday, the New York Post reported that Tara Reid was denied a discount at an All Saints store in L.A. Their source says that the actress asked for a reduced price "because of her fame." While this is mainly hilarious because Tara Reid tried to cash in on her fame, it's not even close to being the only time in recent memory when a celebrity has utterly failed at shopping.

We get that it can be hard to do normal, everyday things when you're under the scrutiny of the gawking masses at every hour of the day, but this is shopping. You choose an item, pay for it with legal currency, and then go home. And yet, a lot of celebrities seem to have a hard time following this process. Location: All Saints, Los Angeles, CA
Infraction(s): When the actress was shopping for a Coachella outfit, she demanded the discount she felt entitled to "because of her fame." When the request was denied, she "began to scream at them and was escorted out."

Location: Sneaker Stadium, Virginia Beach, VA
Infraction(s): Four days after walking out of a hospital, where he was being treated for gunshot wounds sustained during a robbery, Ol' Dirty Bastard tried to steal a $50 pair of Nikes. ODB "was observed by store security on a closed-circuit video camera removing sneakers from a box, placing them on his feet, and walking out of the store," according to Mike Carey, public information officer with the Virginia Beach police department.

Location: Saks Fifth Avenue, Beverly Hills, CA
Infraction(s): Winona Ryder shoplifted $5,000 worth of merchandise from a Saks. The actress was convicted of grand theft felony and vandalism, and was given three years probation and 480 hours of community service. She also had to pay $6,355 to Saks and attend psychological and drug counseling. Several years after the whole ordeal, Ryder claimed she was on Oxycodone and in a "state of confusion" at the time of her theft.

Location: Downtown NYC Clothing Store
Infraction(s): The Harlem native was allegedly caught doing drugs in a clothing shop, and confronted by a store employee. A fight ensued between the two, which was captured by two photographers. A$AP Rocky allegedly tried to steal the footage from the photographers. The punishment for his run-in with the photogs was probation and three days community service.

Infraction(s): The actress demanded $15,000 worth of merchandise for free from the L.A. boutique Kitson to make a celebrity appearance at the shop. The original offer to show up was $500 worth of jewelry and clothing, which Lohan negotiated to $2,000 worth.

Infraction(s): During that time when planking was a thing, Gilbert Arenas planked in a cake shop, and actually put his face in a cake. Arenas tweeted "I guess plankin a cake gets u kicked out the store ..Who would hav knew SMH..wasn't my fault I was hungry."

Infraction(s): This was definitely was done as a PR stunt, but when the comidienne found out Costco wouldn't be selling her book because of a curse word on the back cover, Joan Rivers conducted a one-woman proteset in a Costco. She handcuffed herself to a shopping cart and ranted over a bullhorn, stating, "This is the beginning of Nazi Germany." She also said, "This is a store that sells 300 rolls of toilet paper at the same time, and I say any customer that buys 300 rolls of toilet paper deserves a funny book to sit on the toilet and read."

Infraction(s): After being told she couldn't try on underwear in the changing room of a sex shop for hygienic reasons, Britney took off her underwear and tried on a pair of boy shorts that said "Barely Legal" in the middle of the store. After paying for a pair of underwear, she snatched a wig off a mannequin's head on her way out without paying for it.
