This Artist Put Nature Embroidery on Iconic Sportswear Logos
Nature meets sportswear as these iconic logos are embroidered with flowers and moss.

Artist James Merry has put some #naturefeels on some of the best known names in sportswear. In delicate stitching, Merry has sewn flowers and moss over the Nike swoosh, a mushroom on the Fila name, and vine-like growth around the Umbro design.
It's the details that sets a piece of clothing apart, and for Merry, nature is his undergirding theme. Each of the embroidered pieces features plants found in Iceland, where Merry's studio is based. Yet, it was during a prolonged stint in New York, that Merry was struck by the urban street life of the city, and saw the seed for this series in the unadorned swoosh on an old Nike sweater.
Merry frequently collaborates with fellow Icelander Björk, and his best-known work was last seen on the singer's face. At a recent concert at Governor's Ball, Björk wore a lace headpiece that resembled an alien growth creeping along her cheek. No doubt, it was an interesting design, but definitely less subtle than the sportswear series.
