The collaboration will debut Aug. 20 at the GUESS USA x Babylon Lot 5 experiential skatepark activation in Downtown Los Angeles. The event will have interactive activities like a two-story skate park, carnival rides, food trucks, and games. There will also be performances by Babyface Ray, BlueBucksClan, Kalan FRFR, Kenny Beats, Zelooperz, Donovan’s Sound Club, Pedro, and Blondie Beach Records.
“Creating experiences has always been a big part of the brand mission for GUESS USA,” Nicolai Marciano, GUESS’ Director of Brand Partnerships and Specialty Marketing, said in a statement. “Throwing events at Lot 5 over the past few years with the Farmers Market and GUESS Sport have been really meaningful moments for the community in LA. We wanted to end the summer with something fun.
The new collection features unique patterns and psychedelic colors created by graphic designer and ceramic tile maker Gilles de Brock. GUESS USA and Babylon’s partnership is a nod to classic GUESS USA staples, to summer, and to California. Pieces range in price $60 to $290 for the apparel and $50 to $70 for the accessories. The capsule’s campaign video, which can be watched at the top, was shot in Hawaii.
“Babylon is an amazing brand that’s always been original and true to who they are,” Marciano added. “They have a great design aesthetic, and have a really strong community they engage with. We really value our partnership with them and what we’ve created together. From the collection to the campaigns and experiences surrounding it, it’s always been very strong and unique.”
