Salehe Bembury has joined forces with Clarks Originals.
The American footwear designer was tapped to reimagine the Lugger—a fan-favorite archival model that was introduced about 40 years ago. Bembury began teasing the collaboration in fall 2022, when he gave fans a first look at what has been dubbed the “Mud Moss Lugger.”
The shoe features an updated silhouette that fuses elements from the classic Wallabee as well as Bembury’s signature motifs, most notably a shaggy suede upper, asymmetrical lace panels, as well as the recognizable splash pattern on the toe and collar. Other key details include the Wallabee cup sole unit, crepe-wrapped midsoles, cork footbeds, and co-branded fobs.
You can get a closer look at the Mud Moss Lugger—available in green, taupe, and orange colorways—in the images below. The shoes will arrive at 9 a.m. PT this Friday at Bembury’s beaspunge.com, clarks.co.uk, and clarksusa.com, as well as select Clarks locations.
Bembury is becoming a go-to collaborator for many footwear specialists, including heavy-hitters like New Balance; Crocs; and, most recently, Moncler.
