Matt Barnes Obtains Restraining Order Against Ex-Wife Gloria Govan Following School Incident

Retired NBA player Matt Barnes filed a restraining order against his ex-wife, Gloria Govan, after she was arrested for felony child endangerment.

Retired NBA player Matt Barnes got a temporary restraining order against his ex-wife Gloria Govan, TMZ Sports reports. The move came after Govan was arrested on August 31 for allegedly blocking Matt from picking up their twin 9-year-old boys from school on a day where he was scheduled to take them.

As part of the court order, Govan must stay 100 yards away from the children, but she can see them once a week for four hours of time with a professional monitor present. She will also be responsible for the monitor's bill. Govan, who was charged with felony child endangerment for the incident that led to her arrest, is not allowed to take the children out of L.A. county during that time unless given written permission from Barnes.

Here's TMZ with more specifics on the child endangerment charges against Govan that precipitated the restraining order:

Matt claims Govan used her car as a weapon against him -- and claims he feared for his life (and the lives of his kids) and Gloria punched the gas in her Escalade and "[barreled] toward me."

In May of this year, Govan reportedly sued Barnes for defamation.
