Embattled wide receiver Josh Gordon has been claimed by the Seattle Seahawks off waivers one day after being released off injured reserve by the Patriots, according to Ian Rapoport.
"The Seahawks have claimed former Patriots WR Josh Gordon, source said," the NFL insider tweeted. "QB Russell Wilson gets his wish." Another NFL insider, Adam Schefter, also tweeted the news.
The news was first shared by journalist Josina Anderson. "I'm told Josh Gordon has been claimed off waivers, per source," she tweeted. "The team is waiting to inform the player that will be cut based on the corresponding move for Gordon."
Seattle may light a fire under the wide receiver, who was facing concerns in New England about his work ethic. NBC Sports Boston's Tom Curran said on PFT Live that “he was showing signs of undependability." With Russell Wilson playing like an MVP this season, a fired-up Gordon could be just what they need.
