January 29 was set to go down in history as the day that Tom Brady finally called it quits after 22 seasons in the NFL.

Everyone from fans of the seven-time Super Bowl champion to teammates, past and present, showered Brady with praise in response to a report from ESPN’s Adam Schefter and Jeff Darlington. Then, hours later, his agent Don Yee and his own father told everyone to pump the brakes.

On Monday, Brady made his weekly appearance on the Let’s Go podcast, and said he hasn’t come to a decision yet.

Full quote from Tom Brady on @SiriusXMNFL podcast: "I'm still going through the process I said I was going through. Sometimes, it takes some time to really evaluate how you feel, what you want to do. When the time is right, I'll be ready to make a decision, one way or another."

Brady said he’s taking a day-to-day approach when it comes to processing where his future lies, adding that the focus should’ve been on the weekend’s Championship Games, instead of ESPN’s report, which he also touched upon.

and what you can’t, you leave to others. I know we’re in such an era of information and people want to be in front of the news often and I totally understand that. I understand that’s the environment we’re in.

"But I think for me, it’s literally day to day for me, trying to do the best I can every day, evaluate things as they come and trying to make a great decision for me and my family.’'

When asked if ESPN’s report will steer him in one direction or the other, Brady assured host Jim Gray that he remains focused on doing what’s best for himself and the organization.

"or think, but I’m mostly motivated from inside and wanting to be the best for my teammates and my coaches and my organizations. That’s kind of where my motivation has been for a long time. At different times, you use different techniques and tools to put yourself in the best.

Brady reiterated that he will take his time, saying, “When I know, I’ll know.”

Key quote from Tom Brady on @SiriusXMNFL: "There's a lot of interest in when I'm going to stop playing. I understand that. It's not that I don't recognize that. When I know, I'll know. And when I don't know, I don't know. I'm not going to race to some conclusion about that."
