The WWEannounced on Monday that Sting will be inducted into the Hall of Fame on Saturday, April 2 at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas, the night before WrestleMania 32.
In 1985, Sting made his wrestling debut, even though he initially didn't have a strong desire to compete in the sport. After a short stint as a member of the Power Team USA group, he joined forces with Jim "Justice" Hellwig, who would later become The Ultimate Warrior, to create the tag-team duo, the Blade Runners. More than a decade after his debut, the man born Steve Borden would transition from a blonde flattop hair look to the black tights.
Sting was a fierce competitor who captured everything from the World Heavyweight Championship to the U.S. Championship to the Tag Team title. In 2013, he made his WWE debut and has appeared sporadically since then. The announcement of Sting's Hall of Fame induction even brought LeBron James to extend a congratulatory message on Instagram to the 56-year-old wrestler.
