Kevin Durant looks on against the Houston Rockets.

It all started with analyst Brandon Tierney expressing his own personal observation on Twitter about the Brooklyn Nets

Nets win 7 straight, no one cares.
Nets lose 7 straight, no one cares. Speaks volumes.

— Brandon Tierney (@BrandonTierney) January 8, 2020

Tierney's take elicited a question with an obvious answer from Nets star Kevin Durant, who ventured onto the app Wednesday evening with his team off until Friday.

What does it say?

Once someone finally said exactly what Tierney was getting at, that's when the ball really got rolling for KD.

You give a fuck that no one gives a fuck about the nets. Long story short, u care

— Kevin Durant (@KDTrey5) January 9, 2020

Being relevant in the eyes of fans doesn’t make the ball go in the basket. So it really doesn’t matter but go ahead and claim something

— Kevin Durant (@KDTrey5) January 9, 2020

You’re gonna watch anyway. Doesn’t matter

— Kevin Durant (@KDTrey5) January 9, 2020

Enjoy your tv bro we don’t care about your fav channels

— Kevin Durant (@KDTrey5) January 9, 2020

There was a brief tangent about how loud the Barclays Center crowd was during the Nets' overtime loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Nah it was loud, I was there. Any overtime game in the country no matter the level will be interesting to fans who are there. U know this

— Kevin Durant (@KDTrey5) January 9, 2020

Loud is loud.

— Kevin Durant (@KDTrey5) January 9, 2020

Then, there was the obligatory Knicks vs. Nets debate, which brought us back to the initial topic regarding his team's relevancy.

U think about the nets everyday, how are we irrelevant?

— Kevin Durant (@KDTrey5) January 9, 2020

The reality is that you wanted me to do what You wanted me to do. I didn’t and now you feel some weird way about it. Get over yourself bro, i know u got a lil platform but come out the clouds. It’s not real

— Kevin Durant (@KDTrey5) January 9, 2020

U have to realize. A lot of men call me soft to prop themselves up. It’s deeper than rap with them

— Kevin Durant (@KDTrey5) January 9, 2020

KD also took some time to acknowledge his haters.

It ok to say that you are mad. It’s a Normal emotion

— Kevin Durant (@KDTrey5) January 9, 2020

Only one thing comes to mind. You’re a hater

— Kevin Durant (@KDTrey5) January 9, 2020

If it sounds like we're just going through the motions with Durant vs. NBA Twitter, it's because we are. KD does this every now and then. What was the reason behind starting his latest battle royale on Twitter?

No. I’m giving clout tonight.
