Before Philadelphia Eagles fans hopped on the Wentz Wagon, quarterback Carson Wentz made a name for himself in North Dakota. During the Eagles' bye week, Wentz returned to his home state and paid a visit to Fargo's Herd & Horns Bar and Grill.
When NFL commissioner Roger Goodell announced that the Eagles were taking Wentz with the second overall pick in this year's draft, the reaction video aired by the NFL Network showed a large group of overjoyed fans, most rocking his college Bison jersey, inside Herd & Horns Bar and Grill.
Following North Dakota State University's Pro Day, NFL Networks employees noticed the establishment, and approached their manager John Wilson about the opportunity to film inside the restaurant to catch the reaction from Wentz's fanbase.
According to CSN Philly's Mike Greger, Wentz held a private party in the back room of Herd & Horns, where he picked up the entire $1,000 tab, and left an impressive $500 tip. Considering the Eagles franchise quarterback reportedly signed a four-year rookie deal worth $26 million with a $17.6 million signing bonus, giving a 50 percent tip on a $1,000 bill isn't all that much. Now, before you think Wentz is just trying to stunt, it should be noted that he walked out of the restaurant with his cousin before leaving in a 1996 Chevy pickup truck.
There are a lot of athletes out there who get labeled as bad tippers, but don't group Wentz into that list.
