As American football resumed on Sunday, many of us headed to our favorite team's stadiums or settled in to our couches, looking for a brief respite from the horrors that befell Paris on Friday night. A moment of silence was held ahead of each NFL game this afternoon, a gesture to pause and remember those who died during the violent attacks in Paris that ISIS later claimed to be responsible for.
At Lambeau Field in Green Bay, as the Packers readied to take on the Detroit Lions, some fan decided they would use that moment of remembrance to voice their opinion on what happened.
Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers clearly heard the remark, and decided to address the fan directly following his team's 18-16 loss to the Lions.
It was a strong statement from Rodgers, not only because he called out a fan, but because he went out on a limb to express his own beliefs on the complex situation in Paris, something you don't often see athletes do anymore.
