Mark Sanchez was in Indianapolis to call the Colts vs. Raiders game for Fox Sports, when everything went haywire.

A "stabbing" incident outside a bar put Sanchez in the hospital, and in a surprise twist, ended in his arrest. That left Fox Sports without a broadcaster, and, according to Front Office Sports, the network decided on Sanchez's replacement.

He’s Brady Quinn, a former quarterback who is married to an Olympic medalist. Front Office Sports reported that Quinn “will fill Sanchez’s role on the broadcast,” citing Fox Sports as the source.

Who is Brady Quinn?

According to IndyStar, Quinn "was in Ann Arbor, Michigan, on Saturday for Fox's 'Big Noon Kickoff' broadcast prior to Wisconsin and Michigan playing."

Quinn is also married to a former USA Olympic gymnastics star named Alicia Sacramone, who went viral upon the announcement, according to The Spun.

Sacramone's Instagram profile picture shows her with Quinn and their five kids.

"Mama to Sloan, Teagan, Cass, Cav & Cade," she wrote. "Olympic Medalist High Performance Team @afpa_fitness Trainer." According to USA Gymnastics, "Sacramone won 10 career World medals, the second highest total by a U.S. gymnast, and was the team captain of the silver-medal team at the 2008 Olympic Games."

"Sacramone helped Team USA to its first-ever team gold medal on foreign soil in 2007 and was a member of the 2011 gold-medal-winning World Championships team. Sacramone holds the U.S. record for the most individual vault titles, with a total of six vault crowns. She won the U.S. balance beam title in 2011 and the floor exercise gold in 2005-06," the bio says.

She shared a photo juxtaposing her gymnastics career with her husband playing in the NFL. "Then: sticking landings + slinging TDs. Now: balancing 5 kids’ schedules + calling audibles at home. 😉 #QuinnPartyOfSeven #tbt," she wrote.

As for Quinn, the 40-year-old is a former Notre Dame quarterback who went on to play for the Cleveland Browns in the NFL. According to IndyStar, he never achieved the same level of stardom he found in college, but he’s carved out a successful second act as an NFL analyst — a role he’s held since 2014.

The bizarre stabbing incident involving Sanchez resulted in his arrest, according to Indianapolis police.

“After further investigation and following consultation with the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office, IMPD arrested 38-year-old Mark Sanchez for his alleged role in this incident,” Indianapolis police wrote in a statement on October 4.

“Sanchez was arrested at the hospital for battery with injury, unlawful entry of a motor vehicle and public intoxication, all of which are misdemeanors. All involved parties have been identified and no further individuals are being sought by detectives."

The statement added: "Sanchez is still in the hospital and has not been booked into the Adult Detention Center. The Marion County Prosecutor’s Office will make the final charging decision. An arrest is merely an accusation, and Sanchez should be considered innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.”

Fox Sports confirmed that Sanchez was wounded in a statement on X on October 4.

According to Fox59, the other man in the incident was "a grease disposal truck operator that works with local restaurants" who is claiming self-defense.
