To thank their fans for helping them get one million Twitter followers before any other NFL team, the New England Patriots opted to give out custom avatars for anyone who retweeted this stupid tweet:
Over 7,500 people did just that (as of this writing), including the guy above. The tweet stood for roughly an hour before somebody, somewhere in the Patriots organization actually decided to take a look at it.
We guess sometimes things just don't work out the way you envisioned.
