I would say there's no chance that a boxing match pitting Manny Pacquiao against Conor McGregor would ever happen. But I think I said that a couple hundred times with McGregor/Mayweather and, really, it didn't even take that long to organize.
With that said, McGregor/Pacquiao will probably never be a thing (despite Manny making a small effort to speak it into existence) because there's no undefeated record to market around, and nobody gives a crap without months of trash talking through TMZ cameras to help build hype. Oh, also Pacquiao isn't the draw he was just a few years ago.
That reality didn't stop the boxer/Filipino Senator from wishing McGregor a Happy Thanksgiving, while also telling him to keep his ass lean so they can have a "#realboxingmatch" in "#2018" (though you'll probably have to go much harder if you want to bait him):
Following McGregor's loss to Mayweather back in August, he did describe himself as somebody who has options to fight in either an octagon or a boxing ring (probably whatever pays best):
"I have many options in MMA. I'm sure there's options that will present themselves in the boxing game. Right now, I'm a free agent. My name is on the ring.
"I'll see what's next, but I'm open. I love a good fight, and tonight was a damn good fight. I can't tell you exactly what's next, but something will be next."
Still, not sure anybody but Pacquiao would even care about this.
