If Floyd Mayweather Doesn't Want to Fight Conor McGregor, Manny Pacquiao Will

Manny Pacquiao would be willing to fight Conor McGregor if Floyd Mayweather doesn't want to.

Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather have been exchanging verbal jabs with one another for almost a year now. But the odds of them exchanging actual physical ones still seem incredibly slim, especially considering that UFC president Dana White was called "a f*cking comedian" by Floyd after White's $25 million dollar offer came well short of the $100+ million Mayweather was looking for:

However, if Mayweather isn't willing to come out of retirement to exchange blows with McGregor, Manny Pacquiao--who you may recall had his own drawn out (and public) negotiations before he finally got into the ring with Mayweather--says he's willing to take his place. Pacquiao revealed as much to Fox Sports News 500, though he said he'd only do it if McGregor were to cross-over into his sport.

"In boxing? In boxing (I would) but not in (UFC), just boxing," Pacquiao said. "I didn’t see it [footage of Conor sparring]. But if we are talking about Conor McGregor and boxing, it’s different. Boxing is different than MMA.” Fortunately McGregor just so happened to pick up a California boxing license a few months ago, so that alone wouldn't be a hurdle.

Obviously it's unlikely that a Pacquiao/McGregor match would ever actually go down, as the allure of a Mayweather/McGregor fight would be watching one of them have to eat their words after months of sh*t talking each other through the media. If anything it just seems that Pacquiao would love to interject himself into the discussion (kind of like this cash strapped 54-year-old):

We can't wait to see which other self-promoters will try to get in on this in the future. Anyway Pacquiao's next actual fight will come in April against a guy he's never even heard of (Australian Jeff Horn).

No wonder he's trying to get on McGregor's radar.
