Manny Pacquiao Doesn't Consider Mayweather/McGregor a 'Real Fight'

Manny Pacquiao says the Mayweather-McGregor fight in August "could be very boring."

In about two months time, you'll be able to watch Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor translate their social media/TMZ trash-talking into a pay-per-view fight that will undoubtedly pay each fighter handsomely. Common sense says this will be a baby seal hunt in favor of the undefeated Mayweather, but the novelty of watching these two braggadocious loudmouths in the ring together is likely to entice many casual fans.

It's hard to argue with those who want to see this.

However, the biggest current name in the sport of boxing not named Floyd Mayweather says he won't be watching this particular fight, and will instead save his time for the Sept. 16 bout between Gennady Golovkin and Canelo Alvarez. We speak, of course, of Manny Pacquiao, who had his own super boring fight that hoodwinked 4.6 million pay-per-view purchasing customers (which is still an all-time record number) a little more than two years ago.

"The real fight and the best fight is [Gennady] Golovkin vs. Canelo [Alvarez]," Pacquiao told Yahoo Sports. "The best vs. the best. That’s the fight I will be watching.”

Pacquiao, who it should be noted previously stated a few times that he would fight McGregor if Floyd wouldn't, also gave McGregor no chance, which doesn't shock us a whole lot considering both the two cents of other fighters, as well as good judgment. "McGregor has no chance in this fight," he predicted. "In fact, it could be very boring."

See, we told you.

Finally, he poured water on anyone who thinks McGregor's got a puncher's chance: "There is no way [McGregor] will be able to land a meaningful punch on Floyd. How could he? He has no professional experience in boxing." Still, unless you're betting a massive wad of dough, the only real way to make money gambling off it is by taking McGregor.

Catch the fight, preferably at a rich buddy's house, when it goes down on Aug. 26. Or don't. According to Pacquiao, you won't be missing a whole lot.
