Derrick Rose Thinks the Knicks Have a Chance to Win "Every Game"

Derrick Rose is very confident that the Knicks team that he was traded to could end up being really damn good this season, even going so far as to say that "[T]hey're saying us and Golden State are the super teams." While it's unclear who "they" are in that context, the 2011 MVP hasn't backed down from the lofty claim, and appears just as optimistic now as he was when he originally dropped that quote last month.

Speaking to Yahoo's The Verticalhe said "I feel like I’m not done. It’s a new start. I feel rejuvenated, and when you put all that together, when I step on the floor, I really don’t know what to expect. What I’m doing right now is just preparing myself for something big. I think we have a chance to win every game, and in the league, that’s rare." The last sentence has been the one that seems to be getting the most press today.

I guess, if you think about it, it's technically true that they could "win every game." Though it's also technically true for, say, the 76ers. While the quote makes it sound like an NBA 2K player playing on too easy of a difficulty, it's more likely that Rose is still sticking with the Warriors, Knicks, everybody else line of thinking that he showcased with the "super teams" quote last month.

While it seems like he's living in an alternate reality we can't deny his confidence, something he further demonstrated by adding about changing jersey numbers from No. 1 to No. 25 "I think you’ll see a more mature player. You’ll see the player that you saw toward the end of last year. More under control type of game, and I got a lot more options now this year."

Guess we'll get to see if the Warriors should worry about their wins record falling when the Knicks start their season against a team that Rose may or may not have forgotten to include in his list of "super teams," the defending champion Cavs.
