Tom BradyΒ pretty much putΒ to bed any doubt that he was totally litΒ during the Buccaneersβ Super Bowl victoryΒ parade.
On Wednesday, Brady toldΒ Good Morning Americaβs Michael Strahan that he may have had one too many that day, specifically when he decided to toss the Lombardi Trophy from one boat to another,Β angeringΒ some purists.
βFirst of all, there was not a lot going through my mind at that point,β Brady said with a smile before explaining how the toss couldβve gone terribly wrong.
βI mean, that was not smart for a couple of reasons,β he explained. βOne is, if we drop it, thatβs a little bit of a problem. But, the worst thing that could happen is the edges on that trophy are so sharp. And had those things clipped one of my boys in the other boat,Β it would have been an ugly, ugly parade.β
And good thing thereβs footage from the day, because according to Brady, his memory is a little foggy. βFrom what I remember, yes it was pretty cool,β he said
But with no risk comes no reward. Bradyβs drunken antics at the parade paid off big on social media. Not only did hisΒ Lombardi toss go viral, but the way Brady stumbled off the boat following the parade was also a legendary moment.
Bradyβs drunken celebration generated so much attention because it deviated from the hard-nose, straight-edgedΒ persona that fans have come to love (and hate) throughout his career. Brady explained that he doesnβt get to decompress often. But when he does, heβd rather it doesnβtΒ happen in a place where he can become the next trending topic.
βI had a lot of fun, and I donβt get to do that β itβs hard to relax and when youβre out in public, and thereβs phones, not that I would do anything but it still doesnβt feel like comfortable for me my personality to have people filming,β he added. βSo I tend to just stay at home more and I donβt go out a lot.β
Also on Wednesday, Brady announced his newΒ NFT platform Autograph, which will βbring together some of the biggest names in sports, entertainment, fashion and pop cultureβ to develop the trendy digital collectibles, CNN Business reports.Β
βAutograph will bring together some of the worldβs most iconic names and brands with best in class digital artists to ideate, create and launch NFTs and ground-breaking experiences to a community of fans and collectors,β Dillon Rosenblatt, co-founder and CEO of Autograph, said in a statement.
