Tom BradyΒ pretty much putΒ to bed any doubt that he was totally litΒ during the Buccaneers’ Super Bowl victoryΒ parade.

On Wednesday, Brady toldΒ Good Morning America’s Michael Strahan that he may have had one too many that day, specifically when he decided to toss the Lombardi Trophy from one boat to another,Β angeringΒ some purists.

GMA EXCLUSIVE: β€œThere was not a lot going through my mind at that point. I mean, that was not smart.” @TomBrady jokes with @michaelstrahan about throwing the Lombardi Trophy at the boat parade following the Bucs #SuperBowl win. https://t.co/WRa19Pkehy pic.twitter.com/2HV7aJV1yq

β€œFirst of all, there was not a lot going through my mind at that point,” Brady said with a smile before explaining how the toss could’ve gone terribly wrong.

β€œI mean, that was not smart for a couple of reasons,” he explained. β€œOne is, if we drop it, that’s a little bit of a problem. But, the worst thing that could happen is the edges on that trophy are so sharp. And had those things clipped one of my boys in the other boat,Β it would have been an ugly, ugly parade.”

And good thing there’s footage from the day, because according to Brady, his memory is a little foggy. β€œFrom what I remember, yes it was pretty cool,” he said

But with no risk comes no reward. Brady’s drunken antics at the parade paid off big on social media. Not only did hisΒ Lombardi toss go viral, but the way Brady stumbled off the boat following the parade was also a legendary moment.

Brady’s drunken celebration generated so much attention because it deviated from the hard-nose, straight-edgedΒ persona that fans have come to love (and hate) throughout his career. Brady explained that he doesn’t get to decompress often. But when he does, he’d rather it doesn’tΒ happen in a place where he can become the next trending topic.

β€œI had a lot of fun, and I don’t get to do that – it’s hard to relax and when you’re out in public, and there’s phones, not that I would do anything but it still doesn’t feel like comfortable for me my personality to have people filming,” he added. β€œSo I tend to just stay at home more and I don’t go out a lot.”

Also on Wednesday, Brady announced his newΒ NFT platform Autograph, which will β€œbring together some of the biggest names in sports, entertainment, fashion and pop culture” to develop the trendy digital collectibles, CNN Business reports.Β

β€œAutograph will bring together some of the world’s most iconic names and brands with best in class digital artists to ideate, create and launch NFTs and ground-breaking experiences to a community of fans and collectors,” Dillon Rosenblatt, co-founder and CEO of Autograph, said in a statement.
