Since losing Tom Brady, fans are wondering what direction the Patriots will go in building for their future. Julian Edelman isn't fond of anyone thinking that the Pats should ship him away to start their rebuilding process.

Although there are still a few quarterbacks in the free agency pool, the Pats let a lot of the big-name QBs slip away. This led FS1’s Nick Wright to believe that New England is ready to restructure their entire roster. As a result, he believes that the Pats should trade Edelman to the Lions for the no. 3 draft pick, which will likely become Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.

"If [Lions general manager] Bob Quinn and [coach] Matt Patricia gift Tua Tagovailoa to the New England Patriots and Bill Belichick for the 23rd pick, a third-round pick and Julian bleeping Edelman, I’m out," Wright said. "I don’t know if I’ll be able to watch this sport again because I can’t deal with the idea of it."

Edelman caught wind of Wright's comments on Saturday—nearly a week after it was first reported. Wright's comments prompted him to respond to the clip in a now-deleted tweet that read: "Nice hairline bro."

Wright didn't shy away from the conflict. He fired back at Edelman with a quote tweet that highlights the wideout's off-field antics.

Julian! Good to hear from you, in the middle of the night, responding to a week old clip.

Yes, the quarantine has been bad for a number of things, not the least of which is my hair situation. Such is life.

Congrats on ducking charges for the vandalism & public intox rap, tho! https://t.co/8War9zIigT
