"The BIG3 is in a state of shock over the sudden and tragic death of Andre Emmett," the tweet reads. "Andre was a member of the BIG3 family for two seasons and never without a smile on his face. His kindness towards others and easy-going demeanor made him a joy to be around." Currently, there is little information surrounding Emmett's passing but it is believed that Emmett was killed during a shooting.

Emmett averaged more than 20 points a game during his time as a Texas Tech Red Raider. He was then drafted No. 35 overall back in the 2004 NBA Draft by the Seattle Supersonics and played for the Memphis Grizzlies and the New Jersey Nets during his NBA career. After fluctuating between the D-League and Summer League rosters, Emmett decided to continue his career overseas. He then returned to the states, where he became a staple in Ice Cube's BIG3.
