It sucks getting lit up and there's nothing you can do to fight back during a game. Especially in baseball when your pitcher is just enabling hits like he's hurling a basketball at the other team's batters.

That was the case for the Arizona Diamondbacks' pitcher Zack Greinke against the Red Sox on Sunday afternoon in Boston. Greinke got lit up within the first 5 innings with the Sox destroying the Dbacks defense with a score of 16-1. That included 9 runs on 10 hits within the first inning. That's as real as it gets. And Twitter had some things to say about this debacle.

Through 5 innings of what would look like it would be a sweep of the Dbacks-Red Sox weekend series, the Dbacks social media manager hilariously tweeted this to address their situation on the field.

But the slaughter didn't stop there. Mookie Betts added more to his AL MVP candidate campaign by hitting 3 home runs, becoming the first Red Sox player to reach that feat since Ted Williams in 1957. Betts had four total hits and 8 RBIS to contribute. He is now tied with teammate David Ortiz with 26 homers, and 84 RBIs for the season.

So with 19 hits from the Sox, and Sox pitcher Rick Porcello (16-3) only allowing 3 hits through 7 innings from the Dbacks, the final score was 16-2. But give credit to the Dbacks' Twitter account for showing that the team had to laugh to keep from crying about this one. Major L swallowed.
