The NFL does not intend toĀ suspend the Chiefs' Tyreek Hill from the league after conducting itsĀ own probe into claims of child abuse, Ian Rapoport reports.

It was previously reported that the criminal child abuse case Hill was involved in was no longer being actively investigated, but Hill remains suspended from all team activities. A child services investigation into Hill is still ongoing, and the NFL had said it will not rule on the case until that concludes.

Hill had been being looked into for battery following an incident that left his 3-year-old son with a broken arm. The Johnson County, Kansas D.A.Ā said his office believes a crime was committed, but that there wasn't enough evidence to determine the perpetrator. Chiefs officials were subsequently expecting Hill to be suspended for aĀ maximum of four weeks.

The NFL's choice has been criticized, and compared with its decision to suspend Josh Gordon for marijuana:

Josh Gordon uses weed for mental health... gets suspended for dozens of games...

Tyreek Hill punches and bruises his son because he cries... GETS NO PUNISHMENT.

The NFL should be ashamed of themselves. Their lack of inconsistency is baffling & unjust.
