Conor McGregor has God on his side—the 6 God, that is.
On Friday night, the former two-division champion returned to Las Vegas’ T-Mobile Arena for the UFC 229 ceremonial weigh-in. And guess who was standing by the Notorious’ side? His good friend and unofficial hype man Drake.
The Canadian rapper hit the stage wrapped in an Irish flag. Moments after McGregor weighed in at 154.5 lb, Drizzy congratulated the fighter with a quick dap. Check out the scene below.
As many of you know, Drake and McGregor have been pals for the past couple of years. The Irishman spoke about their friendship back in 2016 during an interview with UFC's Megan Olivi.
“I’m a big fan of Drake. I had a meeting with Jimmy Iovine of Apple and he invited me to the show… I’d spoke to Drake before the first [Nate] Diaz fight—he reached out and messaged me—and we've been in contact since then,” McGregor explained. “I went and met him backstage and he was a cool guy. Another man at the top of his game, it was a great night.”
The Toronto rapper is in Vegas this weekend for a two-night concert event at MGM Grand Garden Arena.

McGregor will step into the octagon Saturday night for the lightweight championship main event against reigning titleholder Khabib Nurmagomedov. The matchup has been billed as the biggest fight in UFC history.
“The reason that there is such great interest in this fight is because these guys are the two best and they’re in their primes and they are fighting when they should be fighting,” UFC president Dana White told Yahoo! Sports. “You didn’t have to wait 10 years to see this and see all that back-and-forth [expletive]. Khabib believes he’s the best. Conor believes he’s the best and so they want to fight each other to prove it. That’s how it should be.”
UFC 229 will air live Saturday night on pay-per-view.
