Former Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Henry Ruggs III is facing additional charges following his involvement in a car crash that left a 23-year-old woman and her dog dead.

TMZ reports Ruggs, who was already facing two felony charges of DUI and reckless driving, has been hit with two additional felonies of DUI and reckless driving as well as a misdemeanor charge of possessing a gun under the influence of alcohol. The added charges were handed down due to the injuries suffered by his front-seat passenger and girlfriend, Rudy Washington.

If convicted, Ruggs faces up to 46 years in prison.

The news arrives just a few days after Ruggs crashed his Corvette into a woman’s SUV Tuesday morning, killing her and her dog. Prosecutors say Ruggs was driving 156 mph just before his crash, while still moving at 127 mph when he collided with the victim. His blood-alcohol level was at 0.16, twice the legal limit, at the time of the crash.

Just a day after the fatal crash, Ruggs was released by the Raiders.

“The Raiders are aware of an accident involving Henry Ruggs III that occurred this morning in Las Vegas,” the team said in a statement before making the announcement that they were releasing the wide receiver. “We are devastated by the loss of life and our thoughts and prayers go out to the victim’s family. We are in the process of gathering information and will have no further comment at this time.”

On Wednesday evening, he was released from jail after posting $150,000 bond and has since been placed under house arrest.
