After leaving Paris Saint-Germain, 35-year-old Lionel Messi will be heading to the United States to join Inter Miami. The deal Messi inked with Miami includes collaborations with both Adidas and Apple. The news was reported by Spanish football journalist Guillem Balague. Journalist Fabrizio Romano also reported on the news.
This will mark the first time that Messi, who just won the World Cup with Argentina late last year, has played for a professional club outside of Europe.
Former soccer star David Beckham is Inter Miami's president. He's also co-owner of the club alongside Jorge Mas and Jose Mas.
Outside of Major League Soccer, Messi was reportedly looking into possibly joining Al-Hilal in the Saudi Professional League. Other stars who have made the move to Saudi Arabia from European clubs include Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema.
