Is a Jets Beat Writer Actually Behind the Adam Gase Burner Account?

People are connecting the account to 'NY Daily News' writer Manish Mehta.

Potential plot twist.

Last week, there was a report, which came from New York Daily NewsJets beat writer Manish Mehta, that mentioned talk of New York Jets head coach Adam Gase having a burner account. The report, citing sources, detailed how Gase didn't care about criticism he's received. "In fact, some people on One Jets Drive are convinced Gase or a family member has a burner Twitter account to monitor what is being written or said about him — and defend him if necessary," Mehta wrote. "Gase didn’t respond to several requests from the News for this story." After some digging, Kevin "KFC" Clancy of Barstool Sports picked up on theories that Twitter account @WyattV18, which was very supportive of Gase, belonged to the Jets coach. Many also pointed out that the account was likely named after Gase's son, Wyatt.

Ok now I can finally address Adam Gase’ burner account @WyattV18. Which is absolutely his burner & no surprise Gase has one. There are certain guys who are the type to need a burner to handle the hate and he’s one of them. That and his “rich as fuck” comment least surprising ever

In a very much unexpected turn, Gase's supposed burner account is now thought to be actually run by Mehta. The account has since been deleted.

I'd like to present the first ever edition of Barstool Sports True Crime:

Is the Adam Gase Burner @Wyattv18 actually a @MMehtaNYDN Burner??

An investigative report to one of the most mysterious storylines in the NFL today

Clancy also provided a screenshot that showed a DM conversation he had with Mehta in which the Jets writer denied the allegations. "Lol You tweeted that I have fake Gase twitter account? I luv ya, Kevin. But come on," Mehta wrote.

Holy shit!!! I’m blocked but someone just sent me this. On the alleged Adam Gase burner account... Manish Mehta’s article was accidentally posted and then deleted immediately. #JetsTwitter caught it right away. Manish seems like the one behind this madness. #Jets #TakeFlight
jets fans trying to figure out if the burner account is actually adam gase or if it’s actually manish making it look like it’s adam gase or if it’s adam gase trying to make it look like it’s manish or-

Head over to Barstool Sports for a complete run down and some more backstory.

In related news, Clancy brought up that Mehta was the person who asked Gase that Le'Veon Bell question that's been making the rounds and that Gase's short answer might have been because of who was asking.

.@LeVeonBell has been a model teammate. Team-first all season.

Then he gets this pathetic answer from his head coach.

So incredibly weak by Adam Gase.
THE PLOT THICKENS. Maybe @wyattv18 really WAS Gase, and Gase decided to frame Manish
