The Inside the NBA crew is beloved for both its basketball analysis and its banter. With the legend Ernie Johnson anchoring the coverage and the hilarious former NBA stars Shaquille O'Neal, Kenny Smith, and Charles Barkley providing takes, the show is the most universally revered talk program in sports.
Thursday night's episode provided a classic moment as Shaq and Kenny debated the best method for paying for gas. Kenny shared a story about how he didn't want to buy a car because filling up the tank cost $80, so Shaq provided a solution: just wait until the tank reaches the halfway point, then fill it up for $20.
Wait... what?

Charles laughed through the whole thing.
Ernie pointed out that half of $80 is, of course, $40. As he put it, "This is bordering on what's closer, the West Coast or the moon? This is bordering on that."
At the 2:00 mark, Shaq finally says something logical: "if you put $20 in, then you bring it back to three-quarters, right?" We're not exactly sure what Shaq was getting at.
Three games are slated for Friday night: Raptors-Warriors (7 p.m. ET, NBATV), Cavs-Pacers (8 p.m., ESPN), and Thunder-Jazz (10:30 p.m., ESPN).
