Veteran big man Dwight Howard had a mini bounce-back year with the Charlotte Hornets in the 2017-18 season. He averaged 16.6 points, 12.5 rebounds, and 1.6 blocks in 30.4 minutes per game, and shot 55.5 percent from the floor. The 32-year-old eight-time All-Star clearly isn't his vintage self, but he showed he still has something to offer.

Howard's career, however, has taken yet another turn. He is headed to the Brooklyn Nets, according to a new report from ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. In return, Charlotte will accept the contract of Timofey Mozgov.

The deal is complete, according to Yahoo's Shams Charania. Charlotte will also receive draft and cash assets.

Mozgov was not a significant factor for the Nets this season. The 31-year-old averaged 11.6 minutes, 4.2 points, and 3.2 rebounds per game. With two slots for max contracts, the Nets could make big moves in free agency—next offseason, Klay Thompson and Kawhi Leonard, among others, are expected to hit the market.

Brooklyn will mark Howard's sixth NBA home. He started his career with the Orlando Magic, then joined the L.A. Lakers, then the Houston Rockets. He then spent one year with the Atlanta Hawks and one with the Hornets.
