Le’Veon Bell's time with the Jets could be over sooner than expected.

New York Daily News reporter Manish Mehta was told by sources that the Jets are "looking to trade" Bell before Tuesday's 4 p.m. trade deadline.

Currently, it's unclear what the Jets are seeking in return. But, the market is reportedly red hot for the three-time Pro Bowl running back, with the Texans, Chiefs, and Bills among the front runners to land Bell. The NYDN's sources say that the Jets are looking to unload Bell's massive contract on the right suitor, so that the franchise can jumpstart the rebuilding process.

In May, the NYDNreported that head coach Adam Gase didn't want the team to pursue Bell during the offseason. Gase made it clear that he didn't want to shell out that much money for certain positions, and he also took objection to linebacker CJ Mosley's contract.

Liked the player, didn’t love the money is how I heard it on Le’Veon Bell. Adam Gase also didn’t love the price tag on CJ Mosley. It all added up. https://t.co/BOZw4b5GwX

It seemed Bell took this personally. Shortly after the Gase rumors made headlines, the running back sent out a tweet in which he claimed to not "jump to conclusions" over false reports.

There’s been a BUNCH of false reports and speculation about me in the past about things I’ve said and done, so I’m used to this. I don’t jump to conclusions when I hear or see a story that may affect me.

As of now, Bell is on track to have the worst year of his career. He's averaging a career-low 3.2 yards per carry with just two total touchdowns. If the Jets do decide to ship Bell, here are some teams that we think should trade for the once game-changing running back.
