Odell Beckham Jr. Isn't Talking Trash Anymore: 'I Learned My Lesson'

Odell Beckham Jr. is starting a new chapter in his football career after signing a $95 million deal with the Giants in the offseason. He "learned his lesson" about trash talking opponents, too, so don't expect any tweets about Jalen Ramsey before Sunday's game.

EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ - AUGUST 30: Odell Beckham #13 of the New York Giants stands on the sidelines during a pre-season NFL game against the New England Patriots at MetLife Stadium on August 30, 2018 in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

The new $95 million man, Odell Beckham Jr., is lining up opposite of arguably the best cornerback in the National Football League when the New York Giants face off against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 1. But outspoken Jags corner, Jalen Ramsey, isn't the reason why.

Beckham, who turns 26 in November, appears to be turning over a new leaf, one that likely means fewer headlines of the sort that now involve the man he'll be trying to beat when the Jags visit Giants stadium on Sunday.

The Giants highlight factory at wideout said as much in the lead-up to the game when he spoke to reporters on Wednesday:

In that same spirit, Beckham said of Ramsey: "This is, if not the best, then one of the best cornerbacks in the league."

He also called the Jags one of the best defenses in the league. It's certainly a different tone than the one fans have come to expect from one of the best wide receivers in the game, who hasn't ever shied away from expressing how he feels about what he thinks. Whether that affects his on-field performance remains to be seen, but opposing cornerbacks might have a lot less motivational material.
