DeMar DeRozan Pens Thank You Letter to Toronto

Posting on his Instagram, DeRozan wrote, "Words could never express what you've meant to me. I was just a 19 year old kid from Compton when we first met."

Earlier this month, it was revealed that the Toronto Raptors were trading DeMar DeRozan for San Antonio Spurs superstar Kawhi Leonard. Not too long after the news broke, the Raptor's biggest fan, Drake, offered a thank you for his time with the team. "Through your leadership, we had the most exciting years in franchise history," Drizzy wrote. Now, DeRozan has penned his own thank you letter to the city of Toronto.

Posting on Instagram, DeRozan wrote, "Words could never express what you've meant to me. I was just a 19 year old kid from Compton when we first met, but you took me in and embraced me as one of your own. I am so grateful for the Love and Passion that you've given me over the past 9 years. All I ever wanted to do was duplicate it 10x over just to show my appreciation. Thank you Toronto, thank you Canada."

DeRozan seems genuinely heartbroken to be leaving the city behind, but he's certainly got what it takes to kill it while with the Spurs, too.
